Kids and teens enrolled in the Oxford Public Library’s summer reading program met with some special visitors last week ? bats. Not baseball, the flying kind.
Rob Mies, a biologist and educator with the Bat Zone at Cranbrook Institute of Science, brought in three types of bats for the kids to examine up close and personal.
The audience viewed a Silver-Haired Bat from Michigan followed by an Egyptian Fruit Bat and Straw-colored Fruit Bat, both from Africa.
