Addison man faces felonious assault charge

A 47-year-old Addison man is facing a felonious assault charge after allegedly threatening his live-in girlfriend with a knife around 10 p.m. June 5.
‘He threatened to kill her because she wouldn’t give him the car keys,? said Sheriff’s Sgt. Robert Brudvig, commander of the Addison substation.
Roy Wayne Carroll was arraigned Friday in Rochester Hills 52-3 District Court before Magistrate Clem Waldmann.
If convicted, he could face up to four years in prison and/or a $2,000 fine.
Carroll was released from the Oakland County Jail Monday after posting 10 percent of a $15,000 bond.
According to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Department, Carroll had been consuming alcoholic beverages when the incident occurred at the couple’s home in the 1700 block of Brewer Rd.
Apparently, Carroll wanted the car keys and his girlfriend wouldn’t let him have them, so he allegedly pulled a knife on her and attempted to physically assault her.
She got away uninjured and ran to a neighbor’s house where she called 9-1-1.
Carroll was arrested at the scene.
A preliminary exam has been set for June 17 before Judge Nancy Carniak.
