Some 20 kids are already on a tentative list for the Shop with a Hero Program, but donations are still needed to support an undertaking by the Lake Orion Police Association to make sure none of the community’s children go without new toys this Christmas.
LOPD Chief Jerry Narsh said he’s hoping to collect $4,000’each of the 20 children is allotted $200’but will add more kids to his list if additional funds come in. No donation, he noted, is too small.
‘Ten bucks is ten bucks we didn’t have yesterday,? he said. ‘Things are tough for a lot of local families this year.?
