A good fellow

Kirt Stalker, a long-time Clarkston area resident, showed his jolly holiday spirit while volunteering with the Clarkston Rotary’s 58th annual paper sale Friday and Saturday.
Dozens of Clarkston Rotary Club Goodfellows bundled up and braved cold temperatures and heavy traffic on street corners across the area to help out all weekend.
Collections were down, possibly due to the economy and weather, but the number of those in need is expected to rise to more than 500, from about 450 last year, said Rotarian Mindy DeLong.
The fundraiser benefits the club’s Shoes for Kids program. To help, contact any Rotarian or send donations to Clarkston Rotary Club, P.O. Box 43, Clarkston, MI 48343. Photo by Laura Colvin
