Girl Scouts invade Addison Oaks!

It’s hard to believe but right now there’s an army of Girl Scouts amassed in the area and not a single one of them is selling those delicious cookies ? not even the mint ones!
They’re not selling because they’re too busy having fun at the Sister Lakes Day Camp for Girl Scouts being held all this week on the grounds of Addison Oaklands County Park.
Approximately 125 Girl Scouts, ranging in age from 6 to 18, are participating in daily exercises designed to ‘build character, confidence and courage,? according to Oxford resident Susan Lester, a troop leader for seventh-graders at Oxford Middle School.
The girls are busy swimming, learning archery and yoga, doing crafts, swapping pins and preparing to perform funny skits as part of Family Night on Thursday.
This year’s camp has a musical theme. Each day celebrates a different type of music from country to the oldies of the 1950s and 1960s to the rockin? 1980s when big hair was in.
On Friday, the girls are invited to dress as their favorite pop or rock stars.
