Baccalaureate focuses on various heroes

Heroes were the focus of the 2008 Oxford High School Baccalaureate service held June 4 at the Oxford United Methodist Church on E. Burdick St.
Sponsored by the Oxford-Orion Ministers Association, the service highlighted three types of heroes and their roles in students? lives.
Graduating seniors Marsha McMunn, Chandler Macocha and Chelsea Landry talked about school and family heroes, while OUMC Pastor Doug McMunn spoke about spirit heroes.
Performing a song he composed entitled ‘Every Day Heroes,? graduating senior Dan Hayward dedicated the piece to his father, Pastor Larry Hayward from Christ the King.
Pastor Hayward ended the ceremony by blessing the graduating class.
On their way out, each student received a free copy of the Bible, courtesy of Gideon’s, International.
