Oxford Village Police found an usual assortment of items when they stopped a 21-year-old Dryden man around 1:15 a.m. Friday, June 6.
A small baggie of marijuana, a set of brass knuckles and body armor were found by police when the young man was stopped.
The suspect was apparently engaging in ‘suspicious activity? at W. Burdick St. strip mall where Art and Dick’s Party Store, Paul’s Barber Shop and Little Caesar’s are located.
Police Chief Mike Neymanowski said the suspect was driving behind the building.
No charges have been issued yet, but Neymanowski said the suspect ? who was taken into custody, but later released pending further investigation ? will most likely be charged with marijuana possession and carrying a concealed weapon (brass knuckles).
As for the body armor, Neymanowski said, ‘There’s nothing really illegal about it unless you’re wearing it during the commission of a crime,? Neymanowski said.
Village police called in a K-9 Unit from the Oakland County Sheriff’s Department to locate and recover the marijuana.
