Brammer earns his 100th win

Oxford Varsity Wrestling Capt. Kyle Brammer accomplished something Saturday not many high school grapplers achieve.
The OHS senior scored his 100th victory during a 16-team invitational held at Detroit Catholic Central High School.
‘He was pretty excited about it,? said Coach Scott Couch. ‘It’s a pretty big milestone to get 100 career wins.?
Brammer took first place in the 135-pound weight class at the tournament.
Overall, Oxford finished 4th as a team.
Finishing second in their individual weight classes were Zach Line (215) and Dylan Smith (Heavyweight).
Josh Villareal (189) took fifth place in his class. Finishing sixth in their respective classes were Geoffrey Charles (171), Bo Cantara (140), Mike Myer (145) and Mike Thomas (103).
On Jan. 9, the grapplers competed at Holly High School. They beat Holly 39-25 and Lapeer West 58-16.
Prior to that, on Jan. 5, the team finished second out of eight teams competing at the Holly Invitational.
Back in December, the grapplers took sixth out of 48 teams at the Oakland County Tournament held at Lake Orion High School.
Right now, the team is 10-3 overall and 2-0 in the Flint Metro League.
Oxford’s grapplers will next wrestle in a quad meet at Lapeer West involving Brandon and Swartz Creek.
