Oxford’s varsity wrestling team is a on a roll scoring two more victories against tough schools last week.
On the road Dec. 12, the grapplers beat Capac 63-9 and Yale 59-13. ‘We had good intensity,? said Coach Scott Couch. ‘We wrestled really well.?
Couch said it’s good for the team to test itself against a variety of diverse wrestling programs.
‘Capac and Yale have always had good programs, tough programs,? Couch said. ‘We’re tried to wrestle some different schools and see where we fit in.?
The team is now 8-3 overall.
Next up is the Oakland County Tournament this weekend.
‘On Friday and Saturday, the varsity team is at Lake Orion,? Couch said. ‘On Saturday, the JV guys are heading down to Plymouth-Salem for a big tournament down there.?
