Cross country running well

Oxford’s cross country team took on Swartz Creek and Linden at home Sept. 19.
The girls team beat Swartz Creek 22-33, but lost to Linden 46-15. (In cross country, the low score wins.) Taylor Dewey had the best time among the girls, finishing in 22:50 and taking 8th place. She was followed by Megan Seeley who finished with a time of 22:51 and placed 9th.
The boys team’s performance mirrored the girls. The guys beat Swartz Creek 22-37, yet lost to Linden 37-21. Ben Cole finished with a time of 17:36 and placed third. Adam Heskitt was behind him finishing in 18:14 and taking fifth.
At the Detroit Catholic Central High School Invitational on Sept. 22, both the boys and girls teams walked away with fourth place trophies at the 9-team event.
Medal winners for the boys included Cole, Heskitt, Andy Stein, Erik Joergen, Mike Brendel and Chase Tucker. Medal winners for the girls included Dewey, Megan Seeley, Kate Wolanin, Shannon Seeley and Mallory Skilling
