Phillip Belcher won’t be Oxford Village’s new clerk/treasurer after all. On Friday, Belcher turned down the job, which council voted to offer him earlier in the week.
‘After careful consideration of the salary offer and current economic factors, I decided it would not be in the best interest of my family to move at this time,? said Belcher, who lives in Clinton Twp.
The village proposed paying Belcher no more than $50,000. ‘The salary offer was about $3,000 more than I am currently making,? he noted.
