Lake Villa residents to protest REU increase

Nearly 250 residents from the Lake Villa Manufactured Home Community are expected to attend the March 28 Oxford Township meeting and present a petition protesting the REU increase for mobile homes, which will result in higher water/sewer bills.
The petition contains more than 400 signatures, according to a press release from residents.
Besides the REU increase, residents are also upset they’re being forced to pay a capital charge for the $12 million bond debt incurred for water system improvements, when the park isn’t hooked up to the system.
‘If we were hooked into the township purification system, it would be much more understandable,? said spokesperson Jody McGill, ‘but nothing has changed for the residents.?
