Oscar night at OHS

So, Director Martin Scorsese finally won an Oscar. Big deal.
Did you know Lydia McRae won Best Student Director?
McRae earned one of 41 Academy Awards given to members of the Oxford High School Drama Club last week.
‘We decided we were going to have our own Oscars,? explained Drama Club Adviser Debra Brown. ‘The kids came up with categories, then they voted for nominees.?
‘The Academy? was comprised of 10 teachers who voted for the winners.
A special awards show was held in the high school’s LGI room Thursday evening.
Dressed to the nines, the students sported plenty of Attitude as they mimicked over-the-top Hollywood celebrities.
From spoiled drama queens (Rachel Napoleon and Hannah Summers) to the artsy cool guy wearing the cape and shades (Chandler Macocha), the students? awards show was definitely more entertaining than the real Oscars.
