The long-awaited Polly Ann Trail pedestrian bridge over M-24 will be here Saturday, Sept. 30.
This is it. It’s really going to happen this time. We’re not kidding.
Trail Manager Amy Murray said the 100-foot-long bridge will be set in place over M-24 between Church and Center streets in Oxford Village between 8 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. Sunday.
The bridge’s concrete deck (or floor) will be poured between 9 p.m. Friday, Oct.6 and 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, according to Murray.
Both northbound and southbound M-24 will be closed to traffic during the above construction times.
Despite all the discussions and proposals concerning changing the detours for M-24 traffic, the original routes (shown right) will be in effect, Murray said.
The bridge was scheduled to be set in place Sept. 29, but Murray said the date was changed in deference to Oxford’s homecoming.
