Fashion show fund-raiser for prom

New York. Milan. Paris. Oxford.
Okay, so the last one may not be one of the fashion capitals of the world, but it will play host to a fashion show to raise funds for this year’s junior/senior prom.
Oxford High School’s Performing Arts Center will be the site of the show 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 11.
Organized by OHS juniors Janelle Grai and Katie Nieporte, the show will feature approximately 60 high school juniors and seniors modeling a variety of prom fashions from area stores.
The young ladies? dresses are being provided by Windsor Fashions in Great Lakes Crossing, Parisian in the Village of Rochester Hills and Maria’s Bridal in Rochester.
Gentlemen’s tuxedos are courtesy of AfterHours Formalwear in Great Lakes Crossing and The Men’s Warehouse in Orion on Baldwin Road.
Orion’s Glitz NXT is doing all the female models? hair and makeup free of charge along with ‘choreographing the whole show,? according to Grai.
Tickets are $5 for adults (available at the door) and $3 for students.
Proceeds will help the junior class pay for this year’s prom Friday, May 5 at Petruzzello’s Banquet and Conference Center in Troy.
It’s tradition that the junior class is in charge of organizing prom, doing everything from finding the location and choosing the theme to selecting the decorations and paying all the costs.
‘Everything that goes on with prom, we have to do,? Grai said.
Grai said proceeds from the April 11 fashion show will be used for ‘extra things? to help make this year’s prom a memorable experience.
Extras include a ‘chocolate fountain? and keepsake key-chains that will be used as admission tickets to the prom.
