Santa Claus came to town last week to visit students at Leonard Elementary.
The Jolly Old Elf himself dropped by teacher Jessica Peyerk’s kindergarten class.
Students patiently took turns sitting on St. Nick’s lap, giving him hugs and reading their Christmas wish lists.
‘This is the best kindergarten class I’ve seen in a long time,? Claus remarked. ‘They’re so polite.?
Perhaps the most interesting gift request came from little Leah Lucas who asked Santa for a ‘real live baby unicorn.?
Being a close personal friend of longtime Leonard resident Geno Mallia, Sr., Santa always makes it a point to visit Leonard Elementary.
When asked how many years he’s been coming to the school, Claus replied, ‘Oh my goodness, probably 30 years.?
Here are some letters other kids sent to Santa:

Dear Santa,
Once again I don’t know what I want for Christmas, but I have thought of a few things:
An ATM machine to put my book money in instead of putting my money in a cup, A computer game called Zoo Tycoon 2 that I heard was really fun and my friend Kellie Dugan has it, A Game Boy game called That’s So Raven 2 or 1 I can’t remember, a chemistry set to make cool experiments, and last but not least, a white Christmas!
I hope you like the cookies that we’re going to make this year. I might leave some carrots for the reindeer.
Merry Christmas!

Dear Santa,
You’re my favorite Jolly person at the North Pole. You’re a very wise person to me. Some people don’t believe in you, but to me I believe that you’re real with all my heart. Christmas is my favorite time of the year and I don’t think Christmas is about presents. I think it’s about spending time with your family and friends. I want an American Girl more than anything!
Merry Christmas!

Dear Santa,
I hope that my two sons Mario and Noah have a wonderful Christmas this year.
It has not been easy for me since a car accident has left me disabled temporarily.
I hope that everything turns out with happiness and lots of joy for the both of them on Christmas morning. They are both the center of my life and I love them with all my heart. Christmas is my favorite time of year and I hope that every memory they have of it are ones of nothing but pure happiness.
