Overture, curtains, lights.
Last Wednesday night, Lakeville Elementary hit the heights.
Dubbed ?100 Years of Broadway,? the one-hour musical showcase put on by the school’s staff and parents was a smash hit.
From powerful solos that filled the high school’s Performing Arts Center to perfectly choreographed group routines, the show featured a medley of classic Broadway tunes over the past century.
Paraprofessional Martine Boni produced and directed the show, while Jen Nicosia choreographed it.
The event raised more than $1,000 for the Lakeville Children’s Fund and Oxford-Addison Youth Assistance.
For Principal Sharon Karpinski, the event served as her farewell performance. She’s retiring this month.
‘Thank you to everyone who helped make this special occasion a wonderful memory for me as I conclude my last year at Lakeville,? Karpinski wrote in the school’s newsletter. ‘It was a night to remember ? a great time with the best group of friends and colleagues in the world. I thank you from the bottom of my heart.?
