On Thursday, June 30 Dallas Cowboys football safety Jeff Heath will be conducting his Second Annual Heath Football Camp, with a twist.
The Pom Pom’s & Pigskins camp will not only pair young, eager football players with the previous Lake Orion High School 2009 graduate and football star, but also his girlfriend, former Dallas Cowboys cheerleader Paige Cavalieri.
Two football camp sessions will run June 30. The first session from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. is slotted for grades three through eight. The second session for grades nine through 12, will run from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
The poms portion will run a dance/cheer camp at the same times for the same grades.
Both Heath and Cavalieri will teach student athletes useful techniques, drills and methods they have picked up from their professional careers, and be available after the camps for questions and autographs.
Proceeds will benefit the Lake Orion athletic programs. Last year’s proceeds helped refurbish the weight room, while this year’s proceeds will support the Dragon football program in the middle schools and high school.
To pre-register, visit https://squareup.com/market/lopeppor, or arrive 30 minutes early at the Lake Orion football field the day of the camps. The cost is $50 per athlete and space is limited to the first 50 players in each session.
See next week’s Lake Orion Review for more details and words from the professionals.
