The American Flag — Colors of Freedom

This year, I am especially grateful to be living in the United States.

Even though we are experiencing high numbers with the pandemic, we have been free to leave our home, purchase groceries and could go out for essentials.

That freedom has been very important for me during this time so I could check in on my parents.

Not everyone around the world has had that luxury. People in other countries could not leave their apartments; they were locked in and watched to be sure they didn’t leave.

In another country everyone has been required to have a special app on their phone for contact tracing or face being fined.

These reports make me grateful I live in the land of the free.

Saturday is July 4th and, in our country, it marks 244 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence. This is a true reason to celebrate.

Living near Lake Orion we have enjoyed many years of their beautiful firework displays. This year, due to the pandemic, they are scaled back.

Our celebrations will be different, but we will look forward to 2021’s show.

On July 4th many will celebrate with family picnics, travel to cottages or their favorite Michigan camping spot to enjoy the holiday weekend.

Plenty of people will be festive and wear our nation’s colors of red, white and blue.

Interesting info from the website ushistory.org says, “The Continental Congress left no records to show why it chose these colors. In 1782, the Congress of the Confederation chose these same colors for the Great Seal of the United States and listed their meaning as: red – valor and hardiness, white – purity and innocence, blue: vigilance, perseverance, and justice.”

This reading made me curious. Having a spiritual mind and knowing about color therapy, I wondered what the energy of the colors red, white and blue represented in my life.

In living life as a spiritual walk, when we see, hear, think or feel something in the world, we check in to see what it might mean to us.

Additional searches revealed: red is the color of blood, which is life-giving, and also symbolic of strength, energy, danger, anger, or love. The color white is associated with divine presence, cleanliness, angelic, faith, goodness or light. Blue represents sincerity, truth, wisdom, trust, calmness, tranquility, sincerity or integrity.

We live in the land of freedom represented by these colors and symbolism of each color lies within each of us. The colors are in the energy fields that surround us and each of us have within us what these colors represent.

The question is now that we know, how are we representing the traits of these colors? Remember, what we see in the world outside us is a mirror of what we think and how we live our lives.

Can you see the colors in your life? Are you in sync with their vibration?

Experiment with it for a few days. Choose one day to wear predominately red and see how you feel. Take special note to the traits of the color red and see how your actions are throughout the day.

Wear white and notice its traits and your actions.

Another day wear mostly blue and see if your day is calmer or more tranquil than the others.

Lastly, choose a day to wear all three colors.

God has given each of us everything we need to have a wonderful life. When we awaken to the ideas that we are a part of all things and everything we do creates a ripple effect elsewhere, we will always do and be our best self. We are free to learn, free to be, free to change, free to be independent and free to enjoy it.

During your holiday weekend, meditate on our flag’s colors and how the energies of the red, white and blue show up in your life.

As you celebrate the independence of the United States, it is a good time to be grateful for your own independence.

Check in with your higher-self to see how freedom and independence shows up in your life.

Lastly, in your prayer time, always hold the best and highest good for our country so that God, the energy of all there is, will provide that to you.

2 Corinthians 3:17 – Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

Happy Independence Day!
