Talented artists receive recognition at high school art show

Lake Orion High School held their Annual Art Show & Auction on March 18. The show featured over 300 students that encompasses work from all of the LOHS art classes and all four art teachers had students receive national recognition at the show.

n “We had a great year. The AP art students received 12 region gold key scholastic art portfolios. We went on to receive six national scholastic medals,” said Melissa Wilson, high school art teacher.

The Natalie Nance memorial scholarships, in the in the amount of $2,000 each, were awarded twin sisters Josephine and Madeline Graham.

The Orion Art Center presented two outstanding high school seniors with a certificate of achievement and a scholarship to the college of their choice.

The awards went to Lorin Guisgand received $500 to attend the College of Creative Studies and Alexandra Flax received $250 to attend her school of choice. –Susan Carroll
