State Rep. Donni Steele on Jan. 11 took the ceremonial oath of office as a state representative in the Michigan House.
Clerk Gary Randall administered the oath in the state Capitol in Lansing on the House’s first day of session. Pictured here at an earlier date is Rep. Steele; her husband, Phil; mother, Marlene Taube; sister, Suzanne Taube; and son, Colton Steele.
Steele looks forward to helping address the concerns of local constituents while working to improve schools, promote safe communities and strengthen Michigan’s economy.
Steele represents the new 54th House District, which includes portions of Auburn Hills, Bloomfield Hills, Bloomfield Township, Oakland Township, and all of Orion Township.
Steele, of Orion Township, is the former treasurer of the township and a former trustee, serving 10 years on the township board before resigning in December to take her position in the state legislature.

  1. Congratulations Donni. So awesome to see how far you’ve come in accomplishing your dreams. I still get the Orion Review and saw the article about your taking the Oath of Office. As a former resident (still am in my heart) of Lake Orion, proud to see you represent all who live there. You go girl!
