Synopsis, Regular Meeting, Tuesday, July 5, 2016
Meeting called to order at 7:06 p.m.
Invocation: Rev. Laurel Dahill, St. Mary’s in the Hills Episcopal Church. All rose for the Pledge of Allegiance.
Held Public Hearing: Bunny Run Lake Water Quality control SAD #1 – Cost Estimate and Work Plan.
Approved the payment of bills in the amount of $479,922.38, payrolls in the amount of $121,552.89, for a total disbursement of funds in the amount of $601,475.27.
Approved Minutes, Regular Meeting, Monday, June 20, 2016.
Approved the request for an Outdoor Assembly License from the Lake Orion Church of Christ for their annual Mission Possible event to be held July 27 – July 30, 2016, and waived the $100 application fee.
Approved the request for an Outdoor Assembly License from Unity Church of Lake Orion for two weekly open air markets, to be held on July 10 & July 24, 2016, and waived the $100 application fee.
Authorized waiving the Zoning Board of Appeals Temporary Use Permit fees for Unity Church’s remaining open air market events, contingent upon the ZBA’s final approval of the application.
Adopted the Resolution allowing for the temporary closure of a portion of Tall Oaks Road subject to compliance with all Township requirements, and directed the Clerk to forward a copy to the Road Commission for Oakland County.
Approved the METRO Act Permit Application from Mobilitie, LLC and directed the Clerk to notice the Michigan Public Service Commission.
Received and filed information regarding the sale of obsolete meeting room equipment.
Approved the request for an Outdoor Assembly License from St. Mary’s in the Hills Church (subject to compliance with all state and local regulations) for a mini-golf fundraising event to be held on August 6, 2016, and waived the $100 application fee.
Approved the request for a Special Permit for St. Mary’s in the Hills Church under Ord. 76, Alcoholic Beverages Regulation, pending LCC approval, and waived the $300 application fee.
Approved the request for a Special Permit for the LO Palooza 2016 event under Ord. 76, Alcoholic Beverages Regulation, pending LCC approval, and waived the $300 application fee.
Approved the Peddlers/Solicitors License Application from David Peters for ice cream sales from a truck under the provisions of Ord. 95, Peddlers/Solicitors Regulation.
Approved Applications to Sell Concessions from various vendors for the DragonFest event on July 8 & 9, 2016.
Postponed action regarding the Bunny Run Lake Water Quality Control SAD #1.
Denied request to allow for roadway solicitations from a group participating in the Komen Breast Cancer 3-Day Event; further, declared a 6-month moratorium on any new roadway solicitation requests.
Adopted Human Rights Resolution, as revised.
Held First Reading of PC-2015-36, Performance Guarantees, Text Amendment to Ord. 76, and directed the Clerk to publish for second reading and possible adoption at the August 15, 2016 meeting.
Received and filed Investment Update.
Received and filed Cash Handling Report.
Authorized the Treasurer to assist Community Programs with cash handling at the upcoming Big Rig Gig and Barn Daze events.
Authorized the Treasurer to bring any future cash handling issues to the Board during Closed Executive Session, at the request of the Community Programs Director and the Technical Union.
Motion for request for additional information concerning an alleged underpayment of taxes at 2330 Clarkston Road failed.
Received and filed proposed Election Commission Resolution regarding transparency and campaign finance.
Received and filed the Village Water Distribution System update.
