The wrestling team’s post-season play did not start off well; losing to Clarkston in team district action on Feb 12.

However, the Dragons fared much better in individual districts on Feb. 15, qualifying nine wrestlers for regionals.

Senior Issac Kinne was the lone first place finisher, avenging a prior loss to Clarkston’s Frank Davis at the Oakland County Meet.

Senior Mason Slocum, wrestling in arguably the toughest weight class at the meet, upset the number one seed along the way to take second place. Senior Nick Nowakowski and junior Dominic Orselli also placed second in their weight classes.

Seniors Andrew Miller and Daniel Zeka will continue their final season, each placing third.

Junior Anthony Vellucci also placed third. A pair of freshman, Dorian Hill and Judah Kinne, will make their regional debut next week. Hill placed third and Kinne was fourth place.

Saturday’s regional action will be held at Oxford High School where only the top four finishers will advance to the state meet.

Ford Field will be the venue for the state meet again this year on March 6 and 7.
