LOHS senior Alex Brent won the 2020 Boy’s Oakland County Championship Diving Meet on Saturday.

Brent saved his hardest dive for last and it paid off, scoring 51 points.

Brent won the event scoring an All-American consideration score of 461.05 points, placing just eight-tenths ahead of the second place diver. This was the closest finish in the county championship meet in recent memory.

Brent won the 2017 Oakland County diving event as a freshman but has missed two years recovering from an injury.

Winning this event again as a senior is a highlight of his high school career.

Brent also signed earlier this week to continue his education and diving career at Wayne State University. — Kristi Pavelich
