LO winning streak ends with loss to Cass Tech

The Lake Orion boys varsity basketball team lost to the Cass Tech Technicians, 33-31, in another hard-fought, low-scoring defensive battle at home on March 11.

Alden Ritt, LO junior, led the evening’s scoring with 13 points and junior Jeffrey Perkowski added five points. For the Technicians, Jamir Gardner led with nine points, and Duane Wright chipped in seven.

“It was a great late season battle tonight, but we came up a couple of plays short,” said LO Head Coach Joel Schroeder. “Credit to Cass Tech for making plays down the stretch. I am really proud of our guys. This game will make us better as we come down to tournament time.”

Lake Orion is now 10-3 overall and 5-1 in the OAA Blue.

The boys start district play next week on March 23 taking on the Waterford Kettering Captains at 5:30 p.m. in the Oxford High School gym.
