Leonard J. DePauw, 89

Leonard J. DePauw of Orion Township, age 89, passed away peacefully in his home on April 21, 2025. He was born Sept. 1, 1935 in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
Leonard graduated from Pontiac Central High School, class of 1953, where he was a drum major in the marching band. He was an extremely active member in the Lake Orion Jaycees and an avid model train enthusiast. He loved his family and music deeply. Leonard retired from Covenant Hospital in Saginaw, Michigan. After his retirement, Leonard helped care for his adult autistic grandson, Travis Francis, until recently.
Leonard was preceded in death by his father John A. DePauw, mother Irene DePauw and great-granddaughter Amelia. Leonard is survived by Donna (Zale) his wife of 41 years; his sister Dolores Hancock (DePauw) and his brother John D. DePauw (Kay)
Leonard also leaves behind a legacy of his three daughters, Kathlyn Cyneo (David), Paulette Morris and Kay Francis and four step-children, Deanna Mastromatteo (James), Anthony Dekinderen, David Dekinderen and Debbie Santos (Rick). Leonard is also survived by his seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, 14 step-grandchildren and 14 step-great-grandchildren.
Celebration of Life will be held on June 7, 2025 from 2-5 p.m. at Orion Township Hall, The Dragon Room, 2323 Joslyn Rd., Orion, Michigan 48360
Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home.
