Lake Orion boys lacrosse defeats Brother Rice, begins Regional play

Lake Orion’s boys lacrosse team took on Brother Rice on May 14 finishing up regular season play with a 9-6 win.
Sam Parillo led the Dragons in scoring with four goals. Joe Cady and Dario Ruffini each had two goals and rounding out the scoring for the Dragons was Hunter McCarty with a goal.
The MHSAA Regional Playoffs kicked off on May 20 with the boy’s first match up against Utica High School.
On Lake Orion terf, the Dragons dominated securing a 21-1 victory and moving them forward in the playoffs.
McCarty led the Dragons in scoring with a season high of five goals. Alex Bruckner and Griffin Jacques each scored three goals. Rounding out the scoring was Kyle Loken, Max Touhy, Dakota Zehler, Steven Martin, Justin Nowakowski, and Kade Manzo each with a goal.
In game two of the playoffs the boys took on L’Anse Creuse North High School May 23.
In yet another dominating performance the Dragons torched the Crusaders 17-4.
Loken, McCarty and Tuohy each had three goals while Bruckner scored two and Parillo, Zehler, Willy Houser, Ruffini, Manzo and Kyler Carson each had one goal.
The Dragons head to Swineheart Field in Utica to take on Utica Eisenhower in the MHSAA Regional Finals on May 28 after Lake Orion Review press time. — M.K.
