Investigation continues into bomb threat

Officers and police dogs from several counties responded to clear Clarkston High School after a bomb threat was called in at about 7 a.m., Jan. 13.
“We have strong leads, but we are still investigating, and getting proof together,? said Lt. Dirk Feneley, Oakland County Sheriff’s Independence Township substation commander. ‘Depending on the circumstances, the suspect can be charged with making terrorist threats.?
School administrators placed the high school on lockdown during the search. Nothing harmful was found.
A Brandon High School student made a similar threat via a phone application in 2014. Jacob Michael Young, 17 at the time, was charged with one count of making terrorist threats, which is a 20-year felony and/or $20,000 government reimbursement. He was also charged with one count of using a computer to commit a crime, punishable by a maximum term of at least 20 years or for life.
He was sentenced to three years probation and 90 days in jail.
