Expo focuses on healthy bodies and minds

The Orion Area Chamber of Commerce hosts its second annual Healthy Body, Healthy Mind Expo Sept. 22.
The expo focuses on eight components of health: fitness, spiritual/behavioral, medical health, environmental, financial, alternative medicine, nutrition and family.
The chamber’s goal is to present residents seeking guidance on their way to achieving their health and wellness goals the opportunity to meet with local professionals.
The expo also gives local businesses a way to connect with people, and the chance to grow their business, reach out to new clients or inspire change in the community and empower positive change, according to the chamber website.
The expo features a Soup and Stew Stroll to decide who has Orion’s best soup, and a Dessert Dash to vote for the best tasting healthy dessert, as well as an array of other food vendors offering a Healthy Taste of Orion.
There will be a Kids on the Move area, Wellness Card and health screenings.
Exhibitors include Legacy Center, Holistic Health by Valerie, Ideal Core Pilates, Oakland Sports Chiropractic, and Kresge Eye Institute. Event-goers will be able to learn more about local businesses such as Kidz 1st Pediatrics, Millage Family Chiropractic and Brain Balance of North Oakland.
The event is sponsored in part by Birmingham Sealcoat, Golling Buick GMC, Northern Flooring & Interiors, The Birney Directive, State Farm Scott Ockerman Agency, Classic Lanes, and Gotta Have Glass.
Vendors range from medical professionals, financial institutions, health stores and the Orion Township Public Library.
