Elaine Marie Kage passed away in her home on Wednesday, Oct. 5, at the age of 80 after courageously battling Parkinson’s disease and dementia.
Elaine was born on March 14,1942 in Detroit, Michigan to Frank and Pauline Kopecek. She graduated from Royal Oak High School in 1960.
On Aug. 17, 1964, she married Lloyd Kage and was happily married for 58 years.
She loved nature and enjoyed fishing, gardening, deer hunting, farming, walking with friends, bird watching, cooking, solving puzzles, word searches and playing scrabble with the grandkids.
Her family was her world and she cherished all the time spent with them. Elaine adored her friends and touched the lives of everyone she knew. She was generous, thoughtful, supportive, and loving to all she crossed paths with.
Elaine is survived by her husband Lloyd, two daughters Janis (Bill) Hagyard and Lisa Braun; proud grandmother of Justin Hagyard, Amanda Hagyard, and Kayla (fiancé Richard Mackowski) Braun. Elaine devoted her entire life to her children and grandchildren, and continues to influence their lives.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, Oct. 14, 2022 – at noon at Modetz Funeral Home, 100 E. Silverbell Rd., in Orion Township. The family will receive friends at 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service. A Celebration of Life gathering is to follow at Lino’s North located at 4856 Adams Rd., in Oakland Twp.
