Last Tuesday was a night to honor the senior Dragon wrestlers before taking to the mats in a dual meet on Jan. 24.
John Moll (wrestling at 125 pounds), Brandon Morrow (160 pounds) and Gaven Womack (135 pounds) were accompanied by their parents onto the mat for a moment of recognition and applause.
The Dragons then hosted a dual meet with the Lutheran High School Westland Warriors. The Dragons beat the Warriors with a final score of 63-17.
Freshman Griffin Dolland (125 pounds), sophomore Jaden Fisher (145 pounds), and junior Chris Kade (171 pounds) all won with a 1st period pin.
Gaven Womack, junior Noah Smith (140 pounds) and junior Andrew Finn-James (215 pounds) brought wins by decision, with Finn-James going 4-2 in overtime.
On Saturday, the Dragons traveled to Roseville for the Oakland-Macomb Duals.
Five of the best teams from Oakland County (Rochester Adams, Clarkston, Holly, Lake Orion and Oxford) faced off against five of the best Macomb teams (Anchor Bay, Dakota, Fraser, Roseville, and Warren Woods Tower) for what was the toughest competition in Southeastern Michigan.
It was a brutal meet for the Dragons overall: however, individually, Jaden Fisher and Noah Smith went 3-2 for the day and Griffin Dolland and sophomore Patrick Dunn (152 pounds) brought home two 1st period pins.
