Cell Out

Cell Out

Students at Lake Orion High School participated in the annual Cell Out for Soldiers event on Friday.

For the sixth year in a row, students entered the building and immediately handed over their phones to the LOHS Leadership class for the day to help raise money for the Cell Phones for Soldiers organization.

Each cell phone collected earns a $1 donation to Cell Phone for Soliders, which will, in turn, use the money to provide cell phone minutes for service members to call their families.

This year, the LOHS Leadership class collected more than 1,900 phones equating to a participation of 90 percent.

In the past six years, LOHS has donated more than $20,000 to Cell Phones for Soldiers and last year they collected 1,938 phones.
