Teams in top 3 in track regional

The Lake Orion boys pulled in a second place spot in the track and field Division I Regional on May 21, while the girls team finished in third place.
The Dragon boys had 100 points, while first place Grand Blanc finished with 170.
Ben Hopkins placed second in the high jump for Orion (6-3), while Kevin Comstock took second in the pole vault (12-0).
Ryan Allison took the long jump (22-1 1/4), 110 hurdles (14.3), and 300 hurdles (38.1) for the Dragons.
Also in the 110 hurdles, Lake Orion swept the top three spots, with Mike Fingado finishing second (14.8), and Kojo Asiedu third (14.85). Fingado was third in the 300 hurdles (40.3).
Billy Peterson took the 1600 (4.31.74), and was first in the 3200 (9:48.9). Rob Shinouskis rounded out Lake Orion’s scoring with a second place finish in the 3200 (9:50).
The Lake Orion girls were third with 85 points, while first place Clarkston had 126.
Blaire James tied for second in the high jump (4-9), and Alex Hartley had victories in the shot put (38-1) and discus (117-7). Also in the shot put, Cara Slosson was third (36-7 1/2).
Alicia Hartley was first in the 100 hurdles (14.9), and the 300 hurdles (45.3). Katie Reilly was sixth in the 1600 (5:18.61), and Sara Lieblein finished second in the 3200 (11:25.2).
The Lake Orion 400 relay team of Lauren Rose, Alex Hartley, Suzanne Rose and Alicia Hartley took first place with a time of 50.9. Lake Orion was third in the 1600 relay (4:16.6).
