Downtown spring fair expands to 2 days

Lake Orion’s annual Home & Garden Market Place and Flower Fair is growing. It now takes place over two days, May 22-23 in the downtown area and offers a wide range of vendors representing home and garden products and services combined with plenty of fun and activities for the whole family, including an all media Art Fair presented by the Orion Art Center.
The fair opens at 9 a.m. on Saturday and ends at 5 p.m. Hours on Sunday are noon-5 p.m.
The weekend kicks off with a Mystery Tour of Art and Fine Wine on Friday from 6-9:30 p.m. Be a part of a fun-filled evening with a chance to win prizes by testing your skills at collecting clues and solving riddles hidden in art work contributed by local artists.
It all begins at 6 p.m. at the Art of Living Gallery, located at 11 South Broadway. Programs will be handed out and refreshments will be served, courtesy of Costco.
The evening ends at CJ’s Cafe, 21 West Flint Street with a Wine Tasting from 7:30-9:30 p.m. presented by Oxford Wine & Beverages.

Celebrity guest for the evening is Deena Centafonte of FOX 2 News.
Jay Towers from Fox 2 News will be out and about with a live broadcast Saturday from 8-10 a.m. interviewing vendors and showcasing highlights of the event.
Visitors to the fair will be able to buy annual and perennial flowers, talk with professionals to get all the advice you need to create a dynamic garden. Come see the latest pond trends and designs and get advice from the area’s best resources.
Learn about decks and furniture and find out everything you need to know about living the good life.
Kids will enjoy a moonwalk and pony rides.
The Sagebrush Cantina is making a special appearance sponsoring the Home & Garden Market Place food tent on Saturday from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday from 12-5 p.m.
Artist and designer Margaret Cobane will be presenting a fireman/snowman holiday ornament in commemoration of the village’s recent fire. Proceeds from the sale of these ornaments will benefit Downtown Lake Orion.
She’ll be making a special appearance for ornament signing on Saturday from 9-11 a.m. and 1-3 p.m.
