Synopsis, Regular Meeting, Monday, June 6, 2016
Meeting called to order at 6:00 p.m.
Held closed executive session to discuss attorney opinion letters and pending litigation.
Invocation: Rochelle Beckemeyer, Echo Christian Fellowship. All rose for the Pledge of Allegiance.
Recognized several Orion Township Firefighters and the Eagle Scout Adam Kociba for their contributions to the community.
Supervisor Barnett was recognized by the Fire Department.
Recognized Madeline Braley as Citizen of the Month.
Heard presentation from the Lake Orion Fireworks Association.
Approved the payment of bills in the amount of $1,063,195.87, payrolls in the amount of $225,132.02, for a total disbursement of funds in the amount of $1,288.327.89.
Approved the Minutes, Regular Meeting, Monday, May 16, 2016.
Approved the Minutes, Public Hearing: Orion Township Corridor Improvement Development Plan and Tax Increment Financing Plan, Monday, May 16, 2016.
Reappointed Ralph Painter and Lucy Koscierzynski (joint Village/Township appointee) to the Orion community Cable communication Commission for two year terms expiring 6/30/2018.
Authorized the sale of the Fire Department’s 1974 Aerial Truck to Environmental Wood Solutions, high bidder, at a sale price of $4,500.00.
Approved the revision of the job description for Full-time Firefighter.
Approved the renewal of the Township’s membership in the Michigan Townships Association and the payment of the annual dues in the amount of $6,609.78.
Adopted Resolution to Set Hearing on Cost Estimate for the Bunny Run Lake Water Quality Control Special Assessment District #1 for July 5, 2016.
Authorized the Supervisor to work with the Manager of the Village of Lake Orion to schedule an intergovernmental joint meeting.
Approved the request to sell concessions from Monkey Business at Wildwood Amphitheater on June 19, 2016.
Approved the request to sell concessions from The Mean Weenie at Wildwood Amphitheater on June 19, 2016.
Accepted the donation of a refrigerator from the Flood family to the Building and Grounds Department, with a value of $50.00.
Authorized the Planning Commission to work with the Township Planner on various text amendments.
Adopted Resolution and Agreement for a pedestrian traffic control device on Clarkston Road.
Received and filed the notice of solicitation from the Michigan Conference of Seventh Day Adventists for summer missionary work.
Accepted the offer to purchase the Fernhurst property from Robert Cavanaugh, at a sale price of $92,500.00, contingent upon Attorney review.
Approved the request of Patty Burger – Joint Venture #1 LLC for a Liquor License (transferred), pending State approval and final inspection of the subject location when it is built.
Received and filed the new investment report.
Scheduled first budget worksession on July 11, 2016 at 6:00 p.m, at the Orion Center.
Authorized the Supervisor to enter into an agreement with DTE Energy to replace all Townships’ streetlights with LED bulbs, at a cost not to exceed $62,054.00; further, authorized the necessary budget adjustments.
Directed the Attorney to proceed as directed in closed session regarding the Camp Agawam copyright issue.
Directed OHM, Township Engineers, to provide additional information regarding the 2016 Tri-Party projects.
Requested Treasurer to provide information regarding concerns with the Parks and Recreation Departments cash handling at the June 20, 2016 meeting.
Requested Treasurer present the first quarter 2016 financial report at the June 20, 2016 meeting.
Received and filed the Sherry Drive signage report.
Received and filed the Village water distribution system information.
Received and filed Attorney Opinion regarding investment reporting.
Received and filed audit summary.
Meeting adjourned at 11:01 p.m.
