A two-vehicle accident on M-24, just south of Drahner Road, sent a 42-year-old Oxford woman to the hospital October 25.
According to the Oakland County Sheriff’s report, the woman was leaving the parking lot of the Nugget restaurant in her 2001 Hyundai, when she failed to yield to northbound traffic on M-24.
She was struck on the driver’s side by a 1999 Ford pick-up truck driven by a 32-year-old Oxford man.
The collision left the woman trapped inside her car.
Oxford firefighters used special equipment from their Heavy Rescue truck to cut and remove the car’s roof and driver’s side doors in order to safely extricate the woman.
The driver of the pick-up truck was reportedly not injured.
