The Oxford-Orion Kiwanis Club really put the service in community service as its members waited tables and washed dishes at Kalloway’s Restaurant and Pub Nov. 1 as part of a fund-raiser.
Tips from customers plus a portion of the proceeds from a special dinner menu generated more than $900 for the club, which is attempting to raise $4,500 for its Tommi Fillion scholarship fund.
A charter member of the club, the late Fillion had a strong commitment to the Oxford-Orion community and its children.
