Kids gather for a spook-tacular time at the Knights of Columbus hall

On Friday night here in Lake Orion, the Down Syndrome Guild, Knights of Columbus, the LO Lions Club and kids with all disabilities met up at the Knights of Columbus hall on Orion Road for a SPOOK-tacular time.
The weather turned out to be absolutely BOO-tiful. And everyone had a HALLO-ween of a good time.
My heart is over flowing with much gratitude for all the outpour of love and support from the community that was given so this event could take place.
So with many thanks we want to acknowledge our Lake Orion Fire Department and Sheriff Department for bringing their vehicles out to join us.
A big thanks goes out to Jets Pizza, Olive Garden, Domino’s, Tim Hortons, TCF bank, Donna Wilson, Stephanie Brady , Buffalo Wild Wings, CLS coordinator Theresa Smith, Para Educator Dion Beattie, Scott Farm, Don & Janet Austin, Italia Gardens, Thirty-one consultant Brenda Hoffman, Van’s Farm market, Special Olympics coach Gary, and all the teen helpers and other people who came out and volunteered their time.
Without all of you we couldn’t have pulled this off.
From the smiles on all the kids faces, and the laughter heard throughout the night, it was truly worth all the effort.
Our special needs kids are amazing kids and they want to have fun just like everyone else, they just need a little more patience & understanding which was definitely shown at our trunk or treat.
So from all of us, to all of you, Thank You! Blessings,
Mary Vellucci
Lake Orion resident
