Crash sends four to hospital

Four people got ambulance rides to the hospital Sept. 3 following a two-vehicle collision on M-24, just south of Drahner Rd.
According to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Department, the crash occurred when a 2005 GMC Sierra pickup truck, driven by a 46-year-old Lake Orion man, pulled out of The Nugget (1055 S. Lapeer Rd.) parking lot to make a left-turn onto southbound M-24.
The driver reportedly pulled right into the path of a northbound 2006 Mercury Milan, driven by an 88-year-old Oxford man.
As result of the crash, both the Oxford man and his 84-year-old wife, who was in the passenger seat, had to be transported by Oxford paramedics to Crittenton Hospital in Rochester.
The Lake Orion driver and his 39-year-old wife, who was in the truck with him, also had to be transported by ambulance to the POH Medical Center in Pontiac.
A citation for failing to yield was issued to the Lake Orion driver. ? CJC
