Two groups of students at Clear Lake Elementary recently got a special thank you from some furry friends for their fund-raising efforts on behalf of the K9 Stray Rescue League in Oxford.
Two adult dogs and three puppies came to visit Clear Lake’s Peer Mediators and ‘Have Fun Here Welcoming Team? (a group of kids who welcome new students).
Throughout the school year, students in both groups conducted fund-raisers such as bake sales, movie nights and selling homemade dog biscuits. Their efforts raised between $800 and $900 for the K9 Stray Rescue League.
One of their fund-raisers earned more than $500, the bulk of which was used to purchase radio advertising for the rescue league.
Members of the Have Fun Here Welcoming Team include ? Logan Carpenter, Kati Schlueter, Robby Ross, Julie Zurlinden, Anthony Boreo, Claire Patrell, Amanda Bauman, Sydney Estrada, Zach Aquino, Ely Xiong, Bobby Carr, Ashley Burr, Regan Moran and Anna Scypinski.
Peer Mediators include ? Justin Mezsets, Samantha Black, Leah McLoskey, Connor McGarry, Salena Prichett, Brooke Kovacic, Jimmy Shaw, Lindsay Keenist, Vito Giannola, Lindsey Leppek, Zack Hadorn, Alex Moore, Noah Cantara, Makala Sutherland, Ashley Horoszko, Alexandra Corrion, Meagan Ashley, Meagan Neff, Michael Doell, Riley McGarry, Danielle Black, Courtney Bocquet, Zachary Woloszyk and Michael Glass.
