richard wayne cole Richard Wayne Cole, age 68, was born June 20, 1947 and passed away April 10, 2016 at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland in Pontiac, comforted by his wife and surrounded by his immediate family. He grew up in Royal Oak and then moved to Lake Orion, where he raised his family. He was preceded in death by his father, George David Cole (86) and his brother, Grant Cole (16).
Richard is survived by his mother: Rita Loyola Cole (91), beloved wife of 38 years, Laura “Lynn” Cole, daughter Erika Lynn Cole, daughter Laura Ann Cole, and son-in-law and best friend Aaron Michael Clark. He is also survived by his loving pets Rosey and Ace Cole.
Nicknamed “Sweet Daddy” and “Rick”, he was a proud entrepreneur and owner of C & C Machine Tool Inc, of Lake Orion for 35 plus years and formerly of Royal Oak MI, where he specialized in Quality Machining & Fabrication Services, serving the industrial, commercial and agricultural industries. He was hardworking, very outgoing, ambitious and an honest entrepreneur and employer who loved all of his employees and co-workers as well as business associates and those he did business with on a daily basis.
He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Oxford Post 108, Sons of the American Legion Lake Orion Post 233, “Harry’s Place” and a member of the Federal Order of the Eagles in Lake Orion. He Loved his American Legion “Brothers”.
He enjoyed riding in his boat on Lake Orion with family and friends. His pride and joy was his 1967 GTO. His favorite day of the week was Sunday, which he spent crusin’ in his GTO with his family, making rounds to see all of his friends and go to some of his favorite local places; followed by Sunday family dinner. Every Sunday he shared family dinner with those he loved; however everyday for Richard was Family Day. Family was what mattered most to him and his family was together everyday and made amazing memories everyday of the week.
He loved fishing on Indianwood Lake with his son-in-law and friendsand filled a quiet room with laughter using his warm, friendly, hilarious and happy personality.
A memorial celebration party for his life will be held and celebrated in June of 2016, this date will be announced by family members at a later date.
