Lots of wind, but nothing big to report

It was batten-down-the-hatches-type weather Saturday night as winds that gusted to 60 miles per hour blew through the area.
Although the strong winds left approximately 1,400 Oxford/Addison residents without electricity, according to DTE Energy, and knocked down some trees and branches here and there, things were pretty quiet overall.
‘I was just looking over the log book and we didn’t get anything from it at all here (in terms of emergency/service calls),? reported Oxford Fire Chief Pete Scholz on Monday morning. ‘The Metamora/Lapeer area had quite a bit of power outages, but knock on wood, we were lucky.?
Addison’s fire department reported ‘a couple downed wires and a couple trees down,? but ‘nothing of consequence.?
