Car lands on bank’s front lawn

Drive-through took on a whole new meaning Sept. 17 when a car ended up on the front lawn of Oxford Bank shortly after 12 p.m.
A 1990 Oldsmobile driven by a 20-year-old Oxford woman landed on the bank’s lawn as a result of a collision with another vehicle on M-24.
According to the Oxford Village Police report, the woman was attempting to cross S. Washington Street (M-24) from Dennison Street when she failed to yield to oncoming traffic.
As a result, her car was struck on the driver’s side by a southbound 1994 Dodge driven by a 19-year-old Oxford man.
The collision sent the white Oldsmobile across the northbound lanes of M-24, over the curb and sidewalk, and onto the bank’s front lawn ? just inches from the building.
An ambulance transported the Oxford woman to the North Oakland Medical Center in Pontiac. She was not ticketed, according to the police report.
Neither the driver of the Dodge nor his passenger, an 18-year-old Oxford man, required medical attention.
